IPAFFS (CHED) Sanitary & Phytosanitary Products

We handle a large variety of imports which require IPAFFS declarations to Port Health in the UK. These include live animals and shellfish, meat, honey, dairy and composite products.

IPAFFS are required to pre-notify authorities in Great Britain before applicable goods arrive. This allows checks and for certain goods

We have accounts with all Port Health authorities and can facilitate payment for any inspections on your behalf.

Do you need support to ensure your imports are certified as organic?

Organic Goods

We can support your organic imports by liaising with Port Health to have your goods approved and certified on arrival to the UK.

We require a certificate of inspection in order to handle imports of organic products which is obtained from your supplier.

A certificate of inspection is not required for imports from the EU until 1st February 2025.

Import pre-notifications

An import pre-notification needs to be submitted to Port Health in advance of the goods arriving in the UK from 1st January 2022. These are completed at health certificate level. We have access to the DEFRA linked systems to make these pre-notifications on your behalf, in addition to the customs import entry.

A health certificate confirms the product meets the health requirements of the UK. It must accompany the consignment during its passage. Products of animal origin and live animals require the consignment to be inspected by an Official Veterinarian in order to verify that the consignment’s contents meet the health requirements of the UK. An individual health certificate is required for each species/type of product.

Private Health Attestations

For exports into the EU, we are able to complete Private Health Attestations for certain shelf stable composite products, avoiding in certain circumstances the need to obtain a health certificate.

We are also able to complete analysis on your products to confirm which would be covered by Private Health Attestations, and which would still need to follow more formal export documentation procedures.
