Dover is the largest ‘roll on, roll off’ (ro/ro) ferry port terminal in the UK. Traffic peaked in 2017 with over 2.6 million road haulage vehicles docking or departing, but is still by far the largest ro/ro port in the UK with £122 Billion in goods flowing through accounting for 17% of the UKs traded goods. It even has its own police force.

Please note there are a lot of changes for ro/ro ports for 2021, including the introduction of the new Goods Vehicle Movement Service (GVMS) which will be used to link vehicles with the relevant customs and security declarations.
